Speaking In your speaking exam, you may have to describe your house and your bedroom and also talk about what you do to help around the home as well as something about your daily routine. Here are some examples of the types of questions that your teacher may ask you in the exam. Remember to always answer as fully as possible and give an opinion, if appropriate. Sample questions: 1. Où habites-tu? Where do you live? 2. Où se trouve ta maison? Where is your house located? 3. Dé cris ta maison. Describe your house. 4. Tu aimes ta maison? Do you like your house? 5. Read the text carefully and then click on the correct statement: /**/ Writing Write a letter to your pen friend telling him/her about your home. Include details on the type of house and location. Give a brief description of your daily routine. In your Writing Exam, you may have to write a letter to a pen friend describing your home and something about your daily routine. Here are a few things to help you revise: Don't forget to write the date in French on the right hand side. Think about a suitable beginning to the letter. It is a friend, so you would start the letter with cher if you are writing to a boy and chè re if you are writing to a girl. What about a first sentence - ask them how they are. " Salut! ç a va?" You could thank them for their last letter. " Merci pour ta lettre." Say you would like to describe your house. " Je voudrais dé crire ma maison." Tell them about the type of house, the rooms upstairs and downstairs, the garden (if you have one) and whether it is an old or modern house. Talk about the location - is it in the town centre or at the top of a mountain? Do you like living there - say why or why not? Giving opinions will always gain you extra marks. Describe your bedroom and say what is good or not so good about it. Perhaps you have to share a room with a brother or sister - do you get on well with your brother or sister?! Talk about your daily routine - about how you help around the home. You can always make it up. Try and include other tenses - say how you helped last weekend or how you are going to help next weekend. Use joining words like " et" or " mais". Try and ask your pen friend some questions. Very importantly, make sure you have covered everything you have been asked to do in the exam question. Don't make your writing too long or too short. Check your work carefully at the end!
