Nazi Germany targeted children from their first day at school - rewriting the curriculum, enrolling them in the Hitler Youth, and training boys for war and girls for motherhood. But not every young person fell into line: the Edelweiss Pirates, the Swing Youth, and the White Rose show that dissent was possible, even in a totalitarian state.
