The Nazi ideal woman was a mother, a homemaker, and a servant of the Volk - not a worker, a professional, or an independent person. Marriage loans, the Mother's Cross, and the three Ks were the instruments of this policy. But the demands of the wartime economy eventually forced a contradiction the regime never fully resolved.
